Glamping with dogs and pets at Alfriston Cabins

Imagine the crisp autumn leaves underfoot, the scent of woodsmoke in the air, and your beloved dog by your side as you explore the rolling hill of the South Downs. At Alfriston Cabins this idyllic vision becomes reality. Nestled within the South Downs National Park, our dog friendly glamping accommodations offer the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, ensuring a memorable escape for you and your four-legged friend.

Our thoughtfully designed cabins and shepherds huts provide a cosy space for you and your dog to unwind. The cabins are equipped with a king-size bed on the mezzanine and a double sofa bed downstairs, whilst our shepherds huts have a king-size bed, all have a fully equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom, ensuring a truly comfortable stay. The true magic lies in the outside space, our secluded location is only a five minute stroll from the historic village of Alfriston, but feels like you are a million miles away.

We understand that for many people leaving their dog behind when they go on holiday, be it at home or in kennels, is like leaving a member of the family behind and this is the reason we decided to welcome well behaved pets along with their family. From leisurely strolls along the Cuckmere River to invigorating hikes across the South Downs, there’s an adventure to suit every energy level. We are also on the South Downs Way route that comes directly through Alfriston village.

The South Downs National Park is a paradise for dog walkers, boasting a network of trails that wind through the breathtaking scenery. With over a third of British people now taking their pets along with them on holiday, choosing the right place for you and your pet(s) is a must.

At Alfriston Cabins, we understand that travelling with your four legged friend requires a little extra preparation. That’s why we provide a dog bowl and a welcome treat. There is also an outside hosepipe should you wish to wash off muddy paws. Alfriston and the local area boasts abundant dog-friendly pubs and tea houses, with all but the main restaurant areas being dog friendly pretty much throughout.

To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience we recommend packing ample food and treats for your dog, along with their own bed, blankets and favourite toys for during their stay. Whilst enjoying the freedom of the countryside, please remember that the area is not fully secure and there are other animals and wildlife nearby, please remember to keep your dog on a lead in public areas and be considerate of other guests and their pets. When out and about please be mindful of livestock.

Did you know, we have also had other four legged friends visit – a house rabbit and a few very well behaved cat visitors.
