What a completely wonderful stay. The stay from start to finish was incredible. The cabin was incredibly clean, and decked out with everything you could think of needing. The area was far more secluded than we first thought, which really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.
We were greeted when we arrived at the property and spoke with Darran, who made sure we had a good journey there and talked us through some areas of interest. Originally, we didn’t add the hot tub to our stay, however after the first day Darran & Mandy made this so simple to add this on at the last minute, and it was by far the best decision.
The hot tub in that position in the quietness of the woods was absolutely perfect. All in all absolutely wonderful, with no hiccups.
Would definitely recommend, and will be staying again.

“We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay here and had the best time! We took our two children and two dogs, and it was perfect for all of us. The kids loved the outdoor play equipment, the dogs loved being able to explore the trees, and we loved having the fire pit! The village itself is lovely, and there is access to so many beautiful areas and sights – far more than we could do in one short trip, so we’ll definitely have to come back! I was a little worried about just how ‘rustic’ a woodland cabin might be (as a city girl who is terrified of everything that crawls) but it was impeccably presented. The mezzanine area was a lovely place to wake up in the morning, the kitchen space was completely functional, and the shower was great. The info booklet noted that hot water is limited, but we had no problems with 4 people’s showers and washing up to contend with. The hosts themselves were just lovely – Darran welcomed us soon after our arrival to make sure we settled in OK, and Mandy was so helpful prior to and throughout our stay. We had fresh eggs, homemade jam and homemade apple juice (all of which were delicious!) and were also grateful for the extras such as nets for rock pool adventures! It was our first whole family trip away and we couldn’t have asked for a better one – will absolutely be back again! But perhaps just the adults next time, because the Rathfinny Estate wine tasting looked intriguing… ”
